SOAR with BATS: an educational exploration of bats

SOAR with BATS!

Highlighting human-bat cultural connections through science, culture, folklore, mythology, and pop culture.

Bats are the only mammal capable of true, sustained flight. Throughout history, bats have been associated with magic, sorcery, and superstition. Bats have symbolized good and evil. Today, bats are looked at as indicator species for the health of the environment and continue to fascinate people around the world.

Exhibit Specifics

Target Audience:   Kids aged 2-14 & their caregivers

Length of Stay:  2 hours

Length of Lease:  minimum 12 weeks

Availability:  Debuted Summer 2021 at ExplorationWorks! in Helena, MT. Available Fall 2021 and after.

Venue Size:  1,800-2,500 square feet (as fabricated). Additional components to expand the footprint are available.

Venue Requirements:  Climate controlled indoor venue.
Electricity and water required.
Ability to obtain proper permits.

OUR BATS
We house 4 bat species. Usually, we use seba bats for exhibition. All of our bats are several generations captive bred, surplus zoo stock. They arrive with appropriate veterinary health certificates.

Bats are highly regulated animals and may require special permissions or permits in your locality. We will investigate the regulations pertaining to bats in your state and make initial inquiries with the governing agencies. Typically, permission and permits are granted to museums, educational institutions, and zoos.
