RAPTORS - Masters of the Sky
Organized in partnership with the National Eagle Center
Highlighting human-raptor cultural connections through the historical timeline from pre-history to modern times. Raptors will be examined through history, art, literature, tradition, symbolism, indigenous connections, pop culture, and science.

Target Audience: Kids aged 2-14 & their caregivers, bird enthusiasts, Master Naturalists, and others Length of Stay: 2 hours Length of Lease: minimum of 12 weeks/3 months Availability: 2023 and beyond Venue Size: Specifically designed for small to medium sized gallery spaces. 1,500 - 2,500 square feet. - Hands on activities including raptor eyesight, talon strength, size, weight, flight, and more.
- Pop Culture memorabilia.
- Examination of the importance of raptors in history. Including paleontology and the origins of the term "raptor."
- Explore the raptor's importance to indigenous peoples.
- Wildlife laws, endangered species, and more.
- SOAR like an Eagle: immersive flight simulator that allows you to become an eagle, soaring above a river. This "game" reinforces conservation topics such as ongoing threats to eagle conservation, the dangers lead poses to raptors, and the difficulty of hunting daily for food.

- RAPTORS: Masters of the Sky has no permitting requirements.
- Individuals and organizations must have special permits from the United States Fish and Wildlife Services to exhibit live native raptors and their feathers (or other body parts). Many states and municipalities require additional permits. Live raptors, raptor feathers, raptor body parts, raptor taxidermy, or other animals and their body parts or taxidermy are NOT included in this exhibit or its lease.
- National Eagle Center programming is not included in this exhibit. However:
- It may be possible to include live streams of regularly scheduled Eagle Programs from the National Eagle Center. This is dependent upon attendance at the National Eagle Center, weather, time zones, technology, and other considerations.
- It may be possible to include live programming at the opening of your exhibition or for a special appearance.
- Build 4 Impact will assist you in sourcing raptor presentations at your facility from reputable local providers during your rental period, if asked.
- The Preston Cook American Eagle Collection is invaluable. It was donated to the National Eagle Center in 2020. It contains approximately 40,000 eagle related items including everyday things, antiques, entertainment, stamps, currency, military memorabilia, books, clothing, and fine art (Audubon's, Bellamy's, Warhol's, Havell's, etc.)
- Items from The Preston Cook American Eagle Collection are not included in the rental of RAPTORS: Masters of the Sky.
- Items from the Collection may be available for lending during your exhibition period at an additional fee and if they are not currently on display at the National Eagle Center. The loan will have certain insurance, display, transport, and storage requirements that must be met at the expense of the Borrower.
