Costa Rica
Wild Again: Nature Restored, Spirits Renewed
March 4 - 13, 2027
(led by our friends at the Wildlife Center of Virginia)

Cost per person: $5,495

Join Dr. Meg Gammage-Tucker, President of the Wildlife Center of Virginia and President of Build 4 Impact, Inc. on an immersive adventure into wildlife rehabilitation and nature in Costa Rica. Meg reminds us, "this is not just a vacation, but a rare, insider conservation experience connected directly to the Wildlife Center of Virginia's mission."

This exclusive journey to Costa Rica is designed as a professional exchange in wildlife rescue, rehabilitation, and conservation, directly aligned with the mission and daily work of the Wildlife Center of Virginia (WCV). Over ten days, participants will visit three major wildlife rescue and rehabilitation centers, collaborate with conservation experts, and engage in hands-on learning that mirrors and expands upon WCV’s clinical, educational, and habitat restoration work.

Interspersed with visits to natural areas and cultural sites, guests will have an exclusive, hands-on experience working alongside wildlife rehabilitators in Costa Rica at these facilities:
  • Rescate Wildlife Rescue - Costa Rica's largest and oldest rescue facility
  • Proyecto Asis Wildlife Rescue Center - a rescue and rehabilitation facility focused on illegal pet confiscation, orphaned wildlife, and environmental education
  • Las Puma Rescue Center - feline rescue center, focused on five of Costa Rica's six wild cat species: jaguar, puma, ocelot, margay, jaguarundi.
Additional days will be spent alongside marine biologist, Dr. Tora Carey, and her work with sea turtle monitoring and research and sting ray monitoring and research.
